About Us
At Wise Trailer Sales, our customers come first.
Our mission statement is:
"Building lasting relationships with our partners and employees while serving the recreational and travel community. Our core values shall be based on Honesty and Integrity and Service to the Community."
You will find that we take a different approach to selling RVs than most dealerships. We want to earn your trust and create a relationship that will make Wise Trailer Sales your only RV dealer! You will never find us intentionally selling you an RV that would jeopardize your safety. We have and will refuse to sell an RV if the we feel the tow vehicle is not sufficient. We value your safety and well being over anything else! We open up every RV that's for sale on our lot first thing in the morning. They are available to browse through at your leisure. When you have questions or are ready to talk figures, one of our salesmen will be happy to assist you. If you want a salesman to accompany you as you look, we can do that. But we don't want to create any pressure in the selling process. We also won't call you every day until you purchase something. Our relaxed environment has proven over and over again to be successful.
We have won many awards throughout the years but Jayco's Gold Circle Award is the one we are most proud of! We have been awarded Gold Circle by Jayco every year since 2004! The most important factor in this award is customer satisfaction. We are one of Jaycos top dealers when it comes to the CSI (Consumer Satisfaction Index) score!
Wise Trailer Sales and Service has been in business since 1975! In the 1960's, C. Bruce Wise sold his lumber company in order to develop Wise's Mobile Terrace. He bought some farm land on New Germany Road for the location of the park. Work on the park continued into the 70's. His son, D. Bruce Wise helped in the development of the park while he was going to High School. When he graduated from school, he got an idea of selling RV's. He used some land that was undeveloped in the back corner of the park. D. Bruce put up a building that would be his service shop, small parts store, and office. It was pretty tough at first. Without any employees, he would work late into the night to get the trailers serviced that he sold. When the trailer sales were slow, he relied on truck cap sales for income.
One of his best decisions came when he decided to pick up Jayco for their tent campers (fold downs) in 1977. Once he saw the quality and the way Jayco went about doing business, he dropped the other brands he was carrying and went Jayco Exclusive. Soon he added travel trailers and motorhomes to his Jayco inventory. He was so impressed with Jayco, that he renamed the street Wise Trailer Sales and Service was located on to Jayco Drive!!
While large RV dealerships were going out of business due to the gas shortage in the early 80's, Wise Trailer Sales and Service survived. We owe this to the fact that we were still small and didn't have the large overhead that forced others out of business. D. Bruce took a big gamble once the gas situation started it's recovery. He stocked up on inventory anticipating that the market would turn around. It did and with that he started to hire employees to help with the increase in business. Not too long after, he built another building to serve as a large parts store, showroom, and offices. Business continued to grow into and out of the 90's.
D. Bruce's oldest son, Justin Bruce Wise, graduated from High School in 1998. He decided he wanted to get involved in the family business. He went to Clarion University, majored in Business Management, and graduated in 2002 with a 3.71 GPA. He currently is managing the business with the occasional guidance and expertise of his dad!
In 2004 Wise Trailer Sales and Service raised the roof on their service building. The doors that were high enough years ago were not so any longer. We also moved the service office and added another service door in the back to create a drive thru bay. Shortly after we acquired a lot of fill from the industrial park. We used it to extend our lot behind the parts store and showroom. This provided much needed space to increase our inventory of new trailers.
The most recent test came when the banking and housing market crippled our economy. While other dealers were reporting major declines in sales and even going out of business, Wise Trailer Sales and Service actually increased sales every year up to the present! We attribute this to our outstanding customer base and our approach to doing business, Treat others the way you would want treated!
We are very proud of and look forward to making more history! We don't rely on a bunch of heavy advertising because we have something that is much more important! Word of mouth from our happy customers!
